Ty has Arrived!

We have the most adorable addition to our family and his name is Ty Alexander. He joined us on Wed., Oct. 27th at 9:10pm. Weighing in at 8 lbs 7 oz. and 19.5 inches long!

For those who want to know, here is the birth story (not to graphic, I promise)... I was making dinner around 4:30 when I started having contractions that were quite different than I had experienced before in this pregnancy. I started timing them and they were pretty consistent around 5 minutes apart. I had to pick Derek up from work and by the time I got there I knew I was in labor. We dropped Ethan off with Mike and Anne and we went home because I wanted to shower and get ready for the hospital. I didn't even have time to blow dry my hair, I knew we needed to get to the hospital, so we got there at 7:15pm. I was dilated to a 7 and the nurses were all surprised at how calm I was. Luckily the anesthesiologist was right there and I was able to get an epidural immediately. I kept progressing and once I was at 10cm, I pushed for 4 minutes and he was here! I was able to nurse him and have skin to skin contact for about an hour before they took him down to the nursery to get cleaned up. It was a truly wonderful experience!

We came home from the hospital last night and we are all doing so well. Ethan loves his baby brother and continually says, "Ahh, he's cute!" We think he looks an awful lot like Ethan.

Brothers!

My boys!

I'm sure I'll have plenty more pictures to follow.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to Hee Haw Farms on Saturday. They have so many fun activities and Ethan loves to go. This year they dropped giant pumpkins from a crane and Ethan loved to watch that. It was too bad we got rained on, but Ethan loved the Corn Box which was covered so we spent lots of time in there. Because of the bad weather, they gave us free tickets to go back any day this week. Hopefully we'll make it back if the weather and baby Ty cooperate.
