We had a fun Halloween this year. Our neighborhood has been pretty crummy about trick or treating in the past, so we went to Nana & Papa's neighborhood this year. The boys had a blast and we still have a ton of Halloween candy in our home. Here is our race car driver, Ethan.
and our cute Tyger!
Also, Ty had his year check up. He is one big, healthy, beautiful boy!
weight- 24 lbs 4 oz (75%)
height- 30.5 inches (75%)
head circumference was 95%
We've also been enjoying the nice Fall weather, although it is starting to get a little cold.

Happy Birthday Ty-ger!
Ty had his first birthday yesterday. He had a tiger themed birthday because his nickname is "Tyger". I made a tiger cake
Which he quite enjoyed!
Aunt Melanie gave him a tiger costume. So cute! Ethan's gift to Ty was a bunch of balloons. He even found a tiger balloon. Ty has had a blast with these!
One year ago today!
We love our little birthday boy!

We're Still Alive!
I can't believe it's been 2 months since I have posted on our blog so here is an update. Ty started walking at 10.5 months (that's about the same as Ethan started walking). He's very sturdy now and walks and climbs everywhere. Although he does get quite a few bumps and bruises. His birthday is tomorrow and I can hardly believe that my baby is a year old! He is so much fun and a joy to our family.
Ethan is a crack up and very imaginative. Lately he loves to make up stories and tell jokes. He is a smart cookie and know how to read and spell the following words: Ethan, Ty, mom, dad, stop, go, cat, dog and ball. He's working on learning Nana & Papa (per Nana's request). He's only 3 1/2 so I'm not pushing it, he just loves to learn and I love that about him!
My boys continue to light up my life and I am one happy Mama!
Here is Ty cruisin'. Playing with his letters.
This boy is afraid of nothing... except his brother, at times.
We went to Hogle Zoo and Ethan's favorite thing was looking at the map and finding where we were going and where we had been. Funny boy!
Derek and I took Ethan to the circus back in September. It was a nice night that he got to have us to himself. Love this fall picture of Ty!

I Love Family Pictures!
We had some family pictures taken back in July. I love how they turned out!
My Boys!
These boys love their daddy!
Ty loves the camera!
Handsome boy.
I'm pretty sure someone was telling a poopy joke to get this smile. (Ethan thinks potty talk is sooo funny these days.)
Little steamy, and a little awkward since my mother-in-law was there with us to help us with the boys.
I'm one lucky girl!

Toothless grin and other fun things...
We've had lots of fun in August. I can't believe summer is almost over, it flew by.
I finally got a picture of Ty showing off his toothless grin.
Motion exhibit at the Dinosaur Museum.
I knew the sand pit was a bad idea!
Ty loved the aquarium!
We found this man made pond right near our house and the boys love it!

An Ode to My Sister-in-Loves
I know this blog is normally centered around my boys, but I would like to take a moment to focus on the majesty that is my sister-in-laws. Many of you probably think I married Derek out of love or simple revelation but this is not the case. The moment I met Bethany and Megan it was love at first sight. It is only in their presence that I feel truly fulfilled as a woman. It is no exagerration to say it is their inspiration which carried me mile after mile through my last miles of my half-marathon. When I wanted to quit I just kept thinking "What would Derek's sisters do?" They are a beacon of physical excellence which I can only hope to achieve through their support and gymnastics coaching. I thank Derek for my sons, but mostly for my sister-in-laws.
(Next time, Emily, whisper your password quieter!)

Boys and Their Dump Trucks
We were having so much fun in the front yard yesterday with the dump truck.
Ethan gave Ty a ride. I had to constantly remind him to go slow and he did.
Then Ethan wanted a ride. Ty was too cute pushing his brother.
Then Ty got adventurous and started walking on his own pushing the dump truck. He is so close to walking on his own. He's only 9 months old! What is his hurry?!? I think he feels safer being up and walking than down and crawling with Ethan around.

I Ran My First Marathon...
... well 1/2 at least! Last Saturday I ran 13.1 miles through the beautiful Provo Canyon and was met by my beautiful family at the finish line.
It was my first race and it went remarkably well. My main goal was to finish and I wanted to be under 2 hrs 15 minutes and I accomplished both of those things. I finished in 2 hours 3 minutes which is a 9.28 minute mile average. I came in 18th in my age group! I haven't had much of a desire to run since then, so I need something else to work towards. Any suggestions? Anyone heard of the TriathMOM? I think that might be my next thing.

Standing Up
This little boy thinks he is so big!
He stands on his own without holding on to anything!
He loves it when I say "You're so big" and he throws his arms in the air.
We love this little (big) guy!

Another Zoo Day
We have a zoo membership and our boys love the zoo, so we go a lot! It was so rainy this morning that we almost turned around and went home, but we waited it out and we're so glad we stayed and were able to go to the zoo together. Zoorassic Park. Ethan was too scared to touch this dinosaur last time. He was quite brave today.
Ethan kept saying, "Ty wants to touch his nipples." I think his vocabulary is a little too good for 3 years old.
These boys were so cute and so well behaved all day!
Sizing up!
It was a long day and we all needed naps at the end.
