Learning to Pedal

Ethan Turned 3!

Yesterday was Ethan's 3rd birthday! It is hard to believe that he is 3 already, but then again I don't remember life without him. We celebrated on Sunday with Nana & Papa and Ethan said, "this is my fun birthday party". Ethan was so excited for his birthday and had been talking about it all month.

The happy birthday boy (and look at Ty in the background, sucking his thumb).

New Tonka Truck!

Our little south paw.

His cheeks are flushed because he had just spent the past 2 hours shootin' hoops with the new basketball hoop from Nana & Papa!

Getting some help from Dad.

Ethan was very excited about his cake. I tried fondant. I need practice, but I think it turned out pretty cute.

Work Out Buddies

Derek and I started a new workout routine called Insanity. We motivate each other and we have a little motivator as well. Ethan thinks that exercises are so fun! He does really funny jumping jacks and has some pretty good squats. We just need a bigger area to do our family aerobics!

Rice Cereal... Yum!

I know he is a little on the young side (4.5 months) but we decided to try solid foods to hopefully cut down on the amount of spit up. Anyway, rice cereal mixed with breast milk was a big hit.

Big boy thinks he can do it himself!

He eats like a champ! All gone.
Loving his new toy from Grandma!

Just a cute picture of Ty enjoying tummy time. And he can roll over now. He surprises himself when he does it though.

New Ethan-isms

Ethan has been cracking us up for a while now with the cute things he says. I really should write them down so I remember, but here are a few of the most recent.

Lately he has been referring to me as "Mama-Ty" I guess because we are always together he just decided to combine our names!

He'll tell me "Mommy looks pretty." I think Derek taught him to say that one, but I still like it!

This morning I asked Ethan to go upstairs and tell Daddy that breakfast was ready. He went to the bottom of the stairs and yelled up, "Babe, breakfast is ready". He's seen and heard me do that a time or two! He has also called him "Honey" and "Sweetie". Again, he picks up on everything. I had to explain that Mommy calls him different things but he needs to call him "Daddy".

I never really thought I did that much baby talk with Ty, but I guess I do because Ethan has started his own baby talk and I have to remind him to use his words. He recently brought to my attention that I say some weird things while changing diapers, but it's embarrassing and I won't mention it here.

And the sweetest thing Ethan says is "I love you" and he says it unprompted more and more! I love this boy and he sure does keep me on my toes!
